Man arrested after alleged indecent act at Victoria playground: VicPD

One man was arrested after park-goers caught him performing an alleged indecent act at a playground in Victoria on Wednesday, according to police.

At around 3 p.m. on July 6, VicPD was called to Central Park in the 2100-block of Quadra Street by concerned parents who said the man was asking children to play with him.

“Parents intervened and called police. When officers arrived, parents pointed the man out to them,” VicPD said in a news release, noting the suspect was arrested and taken to cells without incident.

Police say the man has since been released with a future court date, facing recommended charges of committing an indecent act. He’s also under a condition not to attend parks or playgrounds.
