Downtown Sidney to host Pride festivities Saturday

The Sidney Business Improvement Area Society is hosting Pride events downtown Sidney on Saturday, where people are invited to participate in a range of activites including live music, face painting, and giveaways.

The events will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with live music running from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. between Second and Third Street.

Other activities include:

• Shimmer Beauty Bar will be applying rainbow glitter tattoos, with a small cost and proceeds going to Victoria Pride Society.
• Brown’s The Florist will host a giveaway of rainbow roses.
• Moden Boutique will be selling limited-edition totes in collaboration with Marion Evamy in support of the Rainbow Railway. Henrietta Dubet will be joining us for the fundraiser from noon to 2 p.m.
• Will & Wheel will be selling popcorn, cookies, handmade crafts, pride t-shirts, and face painting.
• The Fickle Fig Farm Market on Beacon will sell pride-coloured macarons boxes with 10 per cent of sales being donated to the Victoria Pride Society.
• Modern Massage Co. will be doing product giveaways and drinks and snacks. A walk-in chair massage special of 10 minutes for $10 will be available.

Additionally, for the month of June, several businesses in Sidney have displays set up to celebrate Pride.
