Dramatic photos show a rolled over car on the rocks in front of Clover Point in Victoria.

The Victoria Firefighters Association says crews were dispatched to the motor vehicle incident around 3:10 p.m. Saturday.

“Upon arrival, crews found a single car that had driven off the embankment and come to rest on its side/roof,” according to the Firefighters Association in an email.

The driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries, the association tells CHEK News.

“The airbags had deployed, and fortunately, the sole occupant suffered only non-life-threatening injuries. BCEHS was already on the scene, and the driver, who was able to self-extricate, was already receiving treatment when Victoria Fire arrived.”

The Firefighters Association says crews from Engine 1 and Rescue 1 were on scene.

“Captain Hanley (E1) and Lieutenant Dixon (R1), along with their crews, secured the scene. VICPD took custody of the scene and waited for the tow truck to arrive, allowing E1 and R1 to return to service,” the association said.

It adds that the cause of the crash is unknown at this time.

CHEK News has reached out to Victoria Police and BC Emergency Health Services for further details.
