Wind warnings for Greater Victoria, north Vancouver Island and west Vancouver Island have been lifted.
According to Environment Canada, a Pacific frontal system had been crossing Vancouver Island this afternoon.
In Greater Victoria, strong southeast winds of 70 km/h developed over the area.
Strong, southeasterly winds of up to 90 km/h developed over the exposed coastal sections of west Vancouver Island and north Vancouver Island near midday.
The winds eased later in the afternoon.
DriveBC is reminding drivers to use caution while travelling in the winter weather.
