VicPD trying to locate stolen scooter belonging to B.C. Special Olympics athlete

VicPD says this scooter belonging to a 54-year-old B.C. Special Olympics athlete was stolen from outside of Hillside Mall at around 4 p.m. on Sept. 21.

Someone stole a scooter belonging to a B.C. Special Olympics athlete yesterday, say Victoria police.

According to the Victoria Police Department, the scooter was stolen outside of Hillside Mall at around 4 p.m. on Sept. 21.

Police say it belongs to a 54-year-old man who has a disability and depends on it for transportation. They also say the man is B.C. Special Olympics athlete.

The scooter is described as a black, two-wheel FLJ brand electric scooter, with off-road tires and a light on its front fender.

The serial number is FLJ-HBC0287 and can be found on the battery. Additional identifying numbers are written on the front tire.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Victoria Police Department at 250-995-7654 and select option 1 or anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
