A Saanich man had his motorcycle impounded Thursday afternoon after allegedly speeding on Willis Point Road with a bent licence plate.

Saanich police said traffic safety unit officers were conducting speed enforcement in the 200-block of Willis Point Road when they saw a yellow Suzuki motorcycle travelling at a high rate of speed.

Officers pulled the driver, a 22-year-old man from Saanich, over.

Police said the officers then discovered the man had bent his licence plate “in a fashion to make his licence plate less visible.”

Saanich police shared this photo of the motorcycle, saying it shows how the licence plate was bent. (Saanich police)

The driver received a violation ticket for excessive speeding and improperly displaying his licence plate. His motorcycle was also impounded.
