Police arrest man following Sunday morning stabbing in Victoria

A man has been arrested by Victoria Police following a Sunday morning stabbing that left a victim with potentially life-altering injuries.

According to police, the incident took place at approximately 7:50 a.m. on February 6 in the 1400-block of Lang Street in Victoria.

Officers responded to a report of an “assault in progress,” at the Lang Street residence and when they arrived on scene, police found the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. One of those stab wounds, according to police, was on the victim’s face.

B.C. Emergency Health Services also attended the residence, began treatment and transported the victim to hospital, having sustained non-life-threatening, but potentially life-altering injuries.

A man was arrested in connection with the incident and transported to VicPD cells.

He now faces recommended charges for aggravated assault and remains in custody.
