Not once, but twice within a six-month period a Comox Valley driver has had his vehicle impounded and was issued tickets for excessive speeding.

On Nov. 22, 2023 at 3:49 p.m. a Comox Valley Municipal Traffic member was on Headquarters Road when he observed a vehicle travelling at 112 km/h in a 60 km/h zone. The vehicle, a Mini Cooper, was pulled over and impounded for seven days while the driver issued a violation ticket for excessive speed.

The second ticket was issued on March 13, 2024 at 1 p.m. Mounties say the same Comox Valley Municipal Traffic member was on duty at Veteran’s Memorial Parkway when he observed a vehicle travelling at 106 km/hr in a 60 km/hr zone.

The member recognized the driver from their previous interaction in November 2023.

This time, the driver’s Pontiac Firebird was impounded for seven days and the driver was issued a violation ticket for excessive speed.
