Nanaimo RCMP searching for excavator stolen from rural property

Nanaimo RCMP are searching for an 2012 E35 Bobcat Mini excavator that was recently stolen from a property on Corsini Road.

Nanaimo Mounties say they are searching for an excavator that was reported stolen.

According to Nanaimo RCMP, a 2012 E35 Bobcat Mini excavator, worth an estimated $40,000, was stolen from a rural property on Corsini Road sometime between Nov. 12 and Nov. 14.

“The excavator is operated with a punch pad and once started, it could have easily been driven onto a nearby logging road, then transported away by a flat deck or other means,” Const. Gary O’Brien, media spokesperson with the Nanaimo RCMP, said in a press release.

The excavator has rubber tracks and the word Southside and 250-591-1510 phone number written on the cab in bright orange paint. The serial number is AFM101239.

Anyone with information about this incident or knows the whereabouts of the excavator, is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345 and quote file # 2020-42281.
