Lake Cowichan’s popular Sunfest Country Music Festival is returning this summer, and the weekend event just released its full lineup this week.

Keith Urban is among the headliners for the festival, which runs from Aug. 1 to Aug. 4.

Urban is a four-time Grammy Award winner, and this year’s festival marks the second time the Australian-American country star has performed at Sunfest.

His last appearance was in 2015, which was also the same year that Island-raised Lauren Spencer-Smith took to the Sunfest stage. Nearly a decade later, Spencer-Smith has gone on to release hit singles and receive three Juno nominations during the 2024 awards.

Other headliners for the event include Lee Brice, Cole Swindell and The Washboard Union.

Sunfest is an annual music festival that takes place at Laketown Ranch in the Cowichan Valley. It’s the same venue where the popular Laketown Shakedown takes place.

This year, Gwen Stefani and Busta Rhymes are among the headlines for the Laketown Shakedown music festival, which runs from June 28 to June 30.

Just last week, Rifflandia music festival in Victoria also announced the lineup for the first day of its three-day festival – and the week before that the Phillips Backyard festival announced its lineups for its two-weekend event.
