Fallen tree limbs lead to power outage, road closure

Oak Bay Avenue was closed this afternoon after tree limbs fell and connected with Hydro lines

Fallen tree limbs are behind an afternoon road closure and power outage in Oak Bay on Sunday.

BC Hydro showed an outage affecting nearly 1,500 customers just after 1 p.m.

Oak Bay Police closed a portion of Oak Bay Ave. at the intersection where the road branches off into Prospect and Newport Ave. while waiting for Hydro crews to arrive.

Power was restored to all homes by approximately 3:30 p.m.
