‘Driver inattentiveness’ blamed for four-vehicle crash on Pat Bay Highway

Saanich Police Department

Saanich police say a driver not paying attention led to a four-vehicle crash that snarled traffic on the Pat Bay Highway Wednesday morning.

The crash occurred on the highway at Haliburton Road before 9 a.m.

The collision, which partially blocked northbound lanes, has since been cleared, Saanich police’s traffic safety unit said in a tweet.

“Driver inattentiveness is believed to have been the cause,” police said.

Many drivers reported major backups on the highway because of the crash.

There were no injuries reported in the crash.

Police say charges, by way of violation tickets, are being considered.
