Nanaimo RCMP says the man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant after walking away from a residential facility in Victoria was arrested Wednesday.
A Canada-wide warrant was issued by Corrections Service Canada on Tuesday for 29-year-old Jesse Wayne Goodale for suspension of his statutory release. He was arrested by Nanaimo RCMP officers at approximately 12 p.m. on Wednesday. Police said he was found at an undisclosed south-end business.
He was held in custody overnight and was scheduled to make a court appearance in Nanaimo on July 25.
Originally sentenced to four years and 10 months for aggravated assault, Goodale was released to the Victoria facility and started residing there July 4.
