British Columbians will be able to access thousands of publicly available datasets on everything from wildfires to floods to old-growth management areas through the province’s updated data catalogue.

The B.C. Ministry of Citizens’ Services says the new catalogue is more user-friendly and that its more-than-3,000 sets of data will help businesses “easily make knowledgeable decisions, build new products or services, and develop new business models.”

Among the changes featured in the new catalogue include improvements on search and filtering capabilities to make data easier to find, simplified language and adjusted font, colour and contrast to make data easier to read.

B.C. Jobs Minister Ravi Kahlon says in a news release that businesses having access to high-quality data can also help drive the province’s economic recovery.

You can find the new-and-improved B.C. Data Catalogue here.
