VicPD arrested the driver of this black GMC SUV Wednesday following a vehicle collision report in the 500-block of Manchester Road.

Victoria police are appealing for witnesses and vehicle owners after an alleged impaired driver supposedly caused several collisions Wednesday, leaving their own vehicle badly damaged.

In a news release, VicPD say officers and BC Highway Patrol were called to the 500-block of Manchester Road around 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 14 following a vehicle collision report.

According to police, a caller reported that the driver of an SUV was showing signs of being impaired.

When officers arrived on scene, they located the driver responsible for the crash, who provided a breath sample of more than double the legal limit. Police then arrested the driver for impaired driving.

VicPD also began investigating evidence of another collision Wednesday in the parking garage of a multi-unit residential building at 535 Manchester Rd.

As officers continued their investigation, witnesses came forward, reporting the same vehicle, a black 2011 GMC Terrain, may have been involved in additional collisions earlier in the day.

“The vehicle appears to show evidence of previous recent collisions which may have not yet been reported to police,” police said.

At this time, VicPD and BC Highway Patrol investigations are ongoing.

Anyone who witnessed a collision or found their vehicle damaged Wednesday is asked to call VicPD’s report desk at 250-995-7654 extension 1. Tipsters can remain anonymous by calling Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
