West Shore RCMP looking for a man wanted for assault

West Shore RCMP has issued a warrant of arrest for Christopher James Gaudet.

Gaudet is wanted for two unendorsed warrants for assault by choking and uttering threats.

The 38-year old is described as a white man who stands 5’7” and weighs approximately 190 pounds. He has blue eyes and short blonde hair.

Anyone who spots Gaudet is asked to contact the West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

Two years ago, Gaudet was arrested by Victoria Police on a Canada-wide warrant for suspension of statutory release and served a federal sentence of more than three years  for possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order, kidnapping while using a firearm, and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

West Shore RCMP says Gaudet remains at large and is considered dangerous and should not be approached. If you locate him, contact your local police immediately.
