Warrants issued for Nanaimo man suspected of possessing stolen credit card

Warrants have been issued for Derek Vautour, 30. (Nanaimo RCMP).

RCMP said arrest warrants have been issued for a 30-year-old Nanaimo man who allegedly used a stolen credit card.

Police said Derek Vautour is wanted for two counts of possessing a forged credit card and breaching the terms of recognizance. On Aug. 9, Vautour was allegedly in possession of a credit card stolen from a parked vehicle that he then used to buy merchandise at various locations throughout Nanaimo.

Vautour is described by Nanaimo RCMP as a white man who is five feet and weighs 100 pounds. Police said he has short brown hair, hazel eyes and a tattoo on his right forearm that says “SHORTY.” Anyone who sees Vautour is asked to call Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
