VicPD says Ashley, 20, is missing.

Victoria police are seeking help from the public to locate a missing woman who hasn’t been seen by her family in more than a month.

VicPD says 20-year-old Ashley was last seen by family on March 20 in the 300-block of Burnside Road. She was later reported missing on April 17, and since then “Officers have been working since that time to locate Ashley and confirm that she is safe,” said police in a news release Monday.

Ashley, whose last name was not disclosed in the release, is described as Caucasian, standing at 5’7″ with a slim build, brown hair and a nose piercing.

Anyone who sees her is asked to call 911.

Those who have any information about where she may be and have not yet spoken with officers can call the E-Comm Report Desk at (250) 995-7654, extension 1, or report what they know anonymously by contacting Greater Victoria Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or submitting a tip online.

In an email to CHEK News, a police spokesperson says VicPD revised its practice with Missing Person Alerts to no longer include last names.

“Having your full name published on the internet can have long-lasting impacts, so to ensure the well-being of those located safely, we have switched to only issuing a missing person’s first name, descriptors & photo(s),” the spokesperson said.
