Vehicle incident closes Highway 19 to northbound traffic near Campbell River

UPDATE: Highway 19 is expected to reopen at 11 a.m. for northbound traffic at Jubilee Parkway about eight kilometres south of Campbell River.

Drive B.C. says there is a detour via Jubilee Parkway and Highway 19A.

ORIGINAL STORY: A vehicle incident south of Campbell River Monday morning has shut down northbound traffic on Highway 19.

There are few details on the severity of the incident and Campbell River RCMP says officers are on the scene.

Drive B.C. says the closed section of nearly 16 kilometres of the highway is from Hamm Road to eight kilometres south of Campbell River.

Jubilee Parkway is also closed while an assessment is in progress.
