In addition to its holding of archival records, the B.C. Archives also a separate library collection.
Numbering approximately 100,000 books, pamphlets, directories, newspapers, atlases, serials and theatre programs, the library collection is stored over two floors of the B.C. Archives stacks.
The books in the library range from the rare and valuable, such as a copy of Captain Cook’s Tapa Cloth catalogue, to the popular, such as a copy of the Harlequin romance “Nurse MacLean Goes West.”
Veronica Cooper sat down with B.C. Archives archivist Taryn Jones to look at the collection.
