TCH reopens between West Shore Parkway and Goldstream Park following crash

Traffic backed up on the West Shore Parkway on Dec. 17, 2019, following a collision.

The Trans-Canada Highway has reopened between West Shore Parkway and Goldstream Park following a crash that shut down the highway for over an hour.

The collision occurred at around 1:30 p.m. and the highway had been closed in both directions until around 2:45 p.m. It then opened to single lane traffic before fully reopening just before 3 p.m.

According to Emcon Services South Island division, which does road and bridge maintenance contractor for South Vancouver Island, the collision happened at Finlayson Arm Road in Goldstream Provincial Park.

Police said two vehicles were involved in the collision and emergency crews were on scene.

An investigation into the crash is underway.

There is also construction in the area between Leigh Road and West Shore Parkway.
