Suspect linked to double homicide in Calgary turns himself in to police

Jordan Jay Ward was wanted in connection with a homicide in Calgary

The man who was wanted in connection with a double homicide in Calgary, and who was thought to have possibly been in the Comox Valley or Parksville areas, turned himself in to Calgary police last week.

Twenty-year-old Jordan Jay Ward was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for two counts of manslaughter.

Ward is the third suspect linked to a double homicide that occurred in the community of Sandstone in northwest Calgary on August 28, 2020.

Abas Ahmed Ibrahim, 27, and Mohamed Khalid Shaikh, 19, were killed in a shooting that was believed by police to be targeted.

Two men have already been charged in relation to the event. On Aug. 31, Calgary police charged 20-year-old Dennis Wong with two counts of accessory after the fact to murder. A week later, police charged 23-year-old Gerald David Benn with two counts of second-degree murder.

Ward turned himself in to a Calgary Police Service district office on Nov. 8.
