Snow may cancel or delay buses in Victoria, BC Transit warns

BC Transit is warning passengers that the snow expected to fall in Greater Victoria this week could impact bus routes.

“Due to snowfall expected Tuesday…please expect delays, detours & cancellations,” BC Transit Victoria said in a tweet Monday.

Passengers should visit BC Transit’s alerts page for the Victoria Regional Transit System on Tuesday before catching their bus. Updates are also available on BC Transit’s info line at 250-382-6161.

Snow has fallen on most of Vancouver Island already this winter, but not so much that it prompted warnings of possible service impacts for transit in Greater Victoria.

This week, Environment Canada has issued special weather statements for most of Vancouver Island saying up to 15 centimetres of snow is possible for some inland areas.

Those areas will likely see snow begin Tuesday afternoon and carry into Wednesday morning.
