Real Canadian Superstore makes masks mandatory at all store locations

There are more than 25 Real Canadian Superstore locations in British Columbia, including five on Vancouver Island — Langford, Duncan, Nanaimo, Courtenay, Campbell River,

Real Canadian Superstore is a subsidiary of Loblaw Companies, which also owns Shoppers Drug Mart, Loblaws, and President’s Choice Financial. Shoppers Drug Mart or Loblaws, which has locations in the Lower Mainland, has not announced a mask policy.

The announcement comes a day after Loblaw Companies unveiled plans to offer asymptomatic testing for COVID-19 at its  Shoppers Drug Mart, Real Canadian Superstore, No Frills, Independent, Extra Foods, and City Market store locations across Alberta starting Sept. 1.

Loblaw’s claims that based on the Alberta pilot, Canada could “increase its testing capabilities by tens of thousands of patients each day by introducing this service” in other provinces.
