Health Canada says Compliments brand chili powder is being recalled because of potential salmonella contamination.

Health Canada is warning consumers of a recall of Compliments brand chili powder because of potential salmonella contamination.

The recall is nationwide and no illnesses have been reported.

The affected product is the 155-gram package of Compliments chili powder with product code 2020 MA 26 and UPC 0 55742 35921 3.

Health Canada advises you to call your doctor if think you became sick from consuming the recalled product.

The agency says food contaminated with salmonella may not look or smell spoiled, but can still make you sick.

Symptoms may include fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea.

Health Canada says long-term complications may include severe arthritis.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is conducting a food safety investigation, which Health Canada says could lead to a recall of other products.
