Port Alberni RCMP arrest man in connection to thefts from Echo Centre

Port Alberni RCMP say they have arrested a man in connection with a string of thefts from vehicles and Echo Centre lockers.

The reported thefts occurred between Oct. 1 and Nov. 6, 2019, along with reports of break and enter and fraudulent use of credit cards.

The RCMP say that on Nov. 7 they arrested 28-year-old Roger Matthew Stonehouse. Stonehouse was found in possession of numerous stolen items related to seven separate reported occurrences.

Police say they are investigating him further for several other reported thefts.

Port Alberni RCMP say that numerous items remain in police custody which are believed to have been stolen from local residents. They say that victims of recent thefts from vehicles or from lockers at Echo Centre who have not yet reported their thefts to police should contact the RCMP at 250-723-2424.
