Police looking for witnesses after 15 windows broken at Victoria school

Victoria police are asking witnesses to come forward after 15 windows at South Park School were broken in August.

Police said on Aug. 6, maintenance staff at the school called the Victoria police non-emergency line to report that several windows at the school had been damaged by rocks.

According to police, similar incidents were reported on Aug 23 and Aug 30.

A total of 15 windows have been broken at the school. Police said most incidents happened during the evenings on weekends.

In addition to asking for witnesses, police and school staff are reaching out to the members of the James Bay Neighbourhood Association and James Bay’s VicPD Block Watch community to remain on the lookout for suspicious persons in the area of the school.

The school is located in the 500-block of Douglas Street. Police said the incidents have caused thousands of dollars of damage to the school.
