Pedestrian seriously injured after being hit by truck in Central Saanich

Central Saanich police investigate after a pedestrian was hit by a truck on Dec. 4.

A stretch of West Saanich Road was closed Monday morning after a pedestrian was hit by a truck.

The collision happened just before 11 a.m. at West Saanich Road and Wallace Drive in Central Saanich.

According to police who were at the scene, the driver of the pickup truck was making a left hand turn when the pedestrian was hit. Police said she did end up underneath the truck.

The woman was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

There is no word yet on any charges. The collision is still under investigation.
