WATCH: Gas prices in the Capital Region are shooting up and the trend could continue for several weeks
There’s more pain at the pump this Spring as Greater Victoria gas prices start to shoot up.
Drivers started seeing a seven cent-a-liter increase at many gas stations in the Capital Region on Wednesday as prices rose to 131.9.
Prices had been holding steady around 124.9.
Some stations, especially on the West Shore, are still around 124.9 but experts say it likely won’t last for long.
That’s because gas prices usually rise in the Spring due to petroleum industry’s switch-over to summer-blend fuels.
The biggest increases are generally in May so more price hikes could be coming.
