National stand-up paddleboard championships wrap up in Sidney

WATCH: For now, it’s goodbye to the Stand Up Paddleboard National Championships, but organizers are hoping the event returns to Sidney, and becomes a staple in the community for years to come.

Picture perfect conditions for spectators, racers and organizers made for a successful weekend on Beacon Avenue in Sidney, with Sunday being the final day of competition.

Athletes from coast to coast descended upon Sidney to take part, and spectators lined up the shore to see the races.
