Multiple reports lead to arrest of suspect for indecent exposure, sexual assault: West Shore RCMP

A man has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting someone and exposing himself to people in the West Shore, according to RCMP.

On March 14 shortly after 7 p.m., officers were called to the 850 block of Orono Road in Langford for a report that an intoxicated man was exposing himself.

When officers arrived, they were unable to find the man. Then, around 7:45 p.m., another report was made of the same man allegedly sexually assaulting someone by touching her in a sexual manner and then running away.

Officers were able to locate the man in Colwood near Goldstream Avenue and Island Highway.

The 27-year-old man was arrested after running away from officers.

Police have recommended charges of sexual assault, indecent exposure and obstructing an officer. He is in custody and is set to appear in court on Friday afternoon.

The recommended charge of obstructing an officer is because the man ran from police.
