Drivers can expect delays on the Malahat Sunday following a multi-vehicle incident between Okotoks and Shawnigan Lake roads, according to DriveBC.
An ‘incident’ alert on the traveller information system’s website, last updated around 11:20 a.m., says the right northbound lane about 2.4 kilometres south of the Malahat Summit is closed, so drivers can expect minor delays.
“Watch for flaggers and crews working,” said DriveBC.
The Malahat Drive X account also posted about the incident, saying, “delays northbound due to MVI.”
A highway camera photo captured around 11:09 a.m. shows paramedics and firefighters on scene, while a Google Maps screenshot shows heavy traffic in the area.
CHEK News has reached out to RCMP and BC Emergency Health Services for more information and will update this story.
