Human remains found near Lake Cowichan, BC Coroners Service investigating

The B.C. Coroners Service is now investigating human remains that were found near Cowichan Lake.

The coroner says they were found in a remote area on Dec. 22.

Cowichan Valley Search and Rescue were called out to assist in the recovery.

Forensic tests have been ordered to identify the body, they are expected to take at least a month to complete.

No further details have been released.
