Duncan man arrested for throwing rocks at people tubing on Cowichan River, RCMP looking for victims and witnesses

A 23-year-old Duncan man has been arrested after rocks were thrown at several people tubing down the Cowichan River.

RCMP say they received a number of reports of potential assaults happening on the river around 6 p.m on Sunday, August 4th.

One woman suffered minor injuries.

Thanks to information from bystanders , the suspect was picked up by police exiting the area near where the rock throwing had taken place.

North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP say the suspect has yet to appear in court and the matter is still under investigation.

They would like to speak to anyone who was a victim of the alleged assaults or witnessed the incident to contact them
