One person is dead and another is in hospital with serious injuries following a single-vehicle incident Tuesday on Cortes Island.
In a statement, RCMP say the driver was pronounced dead on scene after officers responded around 11:30p.m.
The passenger is currently in stable condition.
According to RCMP, speed is believed to be a factor in the collision and the investigation is ongoing.
