A cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a driver in View Royal overnight Thursday.
Police say the crash occurred around 12:30 a.m. at the roundabout on Watkiss Way, just north of Helmcken Road.
The cyclist told police that while they were riding in the roundabout, a red Jeep struck them and then drove away.
The cyclist suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries in the crash and was taken to hospital.
Mounties are now searching for a red Jeep driven by a man with a full beard and medium-length, dark hair. The driver was also wearing a blue jacket at the time.
Anyone with information on the crash or the suspect is asked to speak with West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264. Anyone with dashcam footage is also asked to review their videos between midnight and 1 a.m. on May 9.
