Police in the Comox Valley is asking for help to locate a male whose genitals were exposed to a group of middle school students in Courtenay.

Comox Valley RCMP says the incident happened Monday afternoon around 1 p.m. when they responded to a complaint of a male who had exposed himself to a group of Lake Trail School students.

Patrols were conducted in the area, but the male was not found.

Police say the students were outside the school when a male in his early twenties walked through the school grounds with his pants open.

Investigators say the students immediately notified school staff and police were notified.

The suspect is described by police as being a 20-to-30-year-old white male, wearing a grey sweater and a white t-shirt underneath, jeans or dark pants and a grey or blue hat.

One witness said the male looked unkempt or disheveled.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Comox Valley RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
