T.J. Vogel took advantage of much-improved playing conditions on Friday to shoot a blistering 7 under at the Bayview Place Cardtronics Open held at Uplands Golf Club in Victoria.
Vogel (-12) will head into Saturday with a two-stroke lead over day-1 leader Jhared Hack (-10).
The top Canadian in the field is Kitchener’s Michael Gligic at 7 under (5th). Gligic shot the round of the day at 8 under par.
Gorge Vale assistant pro Isaac Weintraub is still on the course, but through 14 holes is sitting at five under for the day, and 1 under for the tournament. Weintraub, at this pace, should make the cut for the weekend.
The Bayview Place Cardtronics Open is an official stop on the Mackenzie Tour – PGA Tour Canada.
