BC Transit introduces new route between Nanaimo and Duncan

The schedule for the new route will be announced on March 14.

BC Transit will be launching a new route between downtown Nanaimo and downtown Duncan on March 28.

The Route 70 NCX Nanaimo-Cowichan Express will run seven round trips Monday through Friday, and six trips on Saturday.

There will be eight stops along the route:

  • Downtown Nanaimo Exchange
  • Nanaimo South Parkway Plaza
  • Nanaimo Airport
  • 1st Avenue at Highway 1 in Ladysmith
  • Drinkwater Rd. at Cowichan Commons
  • Beverly Street at Duncan Street near Vancouver Island University
  • Duncan Train Station
  • Village Green Mall in Duncan

One way fare on this route will be $7.50, with month passes available for purchase at vendors, which will be announced on March 14.

This route is a partnership between BC Transit, Regional District of Nanaimo, and the Cowichan Valley Regional District.
