BC Ferries says it’s adding nearly two dozen extra sailings between Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay for when Taylor Swift arrives in Vancouver for her Eras Tour performances.

The pop superstar will be performing at BC Place in Vancouver on Dec. 6, 7 and 8.

Fans have already been clamouring for tickets, and multiple Island sporting events have offered tickets to her shows as promotions, including the Victoria Royals, Victoria HarbourCats, Nanaimo NightOwls, Cowichan Valley Capitals and Champ Promotions.

Extra sailings aboard two ferry lines

BC Ferries says it will be adding 22 extra sailings between Vancouver and Victoria spanning from Dec. 5 to 8 to accommodate the extra traffic.

There will be three extra roundtrip sailings on the Thursday, two extra on the Friday, another three on the Saturday and two additional sailings on the Sunday.

“We know many Island residents were lucky to be able to buy tickets and we want to make sure they have lots of options to get there and back,” said a BC Ferries spokesperson on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, new ferry line Hullo – which sails between Nanaimo and downtown Vancouver – says it will also be adding extra sailings during Swift’s performances.

No exact sailing dates have been announced yet, but Hullo tells CHEK News it plans to add late-night sailings “like we’ve been doing for Canucks games and other concerts.”

Examples this month include multiple 11 p.m. departures from Vancouver heading to Nanaimo to accommodate Canucks games, according to the Hullo website.

Another sailing is scheduled for 11:55 p.m. from Vancouver to Nanaimo on Feb. 21 for people travelling from the Madonna concert.

The ferry line says it only has its schedules officially planned out until May, which can be found on its website. More information about sailings during Swift’s stop in Vancouver will be released closer to the concert dates.
