Dozens of people donned their best tweed jackets, ties and even a cravat or two, and hopped on their classic and vintage styled motorcycles to enjoy the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride.

The leisurely ride through the Westshore, Esquimalt and Victoria, is a fundraiser for men’s health issues.

There are more than 650 cities worldwide hosting a Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, with an estimated 120-thousand riders taking part.

Bob Mitchell is the co-chair of Greater Victoria’s Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride.

“We want to dress up ‘dapper’ and make a splashy appearance to the public. That way, people stop and talk to us, we tell them what we’re doing, and it brings aback a whole awareness to prostate cancer, and the problems around that men have, and men’s mental health conditions.”

Participant Stephen Hemphill adds that the Ride is “in collaboration with the Movember foundation. We’ve raised over $8,000 dollars in Victoria alone.”

Organizers hope to raise more than $6 million dollars worldwide.
