The holiday season, even in the best of times, can be stressful and depressing for many.

A deadly global pandemic, lockdowns, restrictions that prevent us from seeing loved ones, doesn’t make it any easier.

In this edition of The New Normal, CHEK’s Stacy Ross talks to author Samatha Gordon about her book, How To Be In Zen In a Crisis, and how we can manage during these difficult times.

Gordon says it is really important to connect to “each other” mindfully and to take the time to slow down and reduce your screen time.

“The most important thing to do is schedule quiet time,” she said, later adding.  “If, you know, the children, don’t want to calm down, maybe just take 20 minutes to have a bath. Have a bubble bath, light some candles . . . and just connect yourself in the present moment.”
