Pat Bay Highway reopens after crash involving car and semi trailer

A white car is towed from the scene after it was trapped under a semi-trailer on Highway 17. 

The southbound lanes of the Patricia Bay Highway have reopened after a crash involving a car and a semi-trailer truck that left one person with minor injuries.

A car was trapped under a semi-trailer truck following the collision, which occurred on Highway 17, just north of the Vanalman exit, at around 3 p.m. Thursday. Police and commercial vehicle inspectors were at the scene of the crash.

The southbound lanes between Quadra Street and McKenzie Avenue were closed after the collision. Traffic was diverted at the Quadra Street off-ramp.

At around 4:40, Drive B.C. said the highway has reopened.

The driver of the car suffered minor injuries and was able to walk away from the crash.
