Claire Eccles says final goodbye to Victoria

WATCH: After 14 months of breaking records, smashing barriers, and most of all, inspiring the next generation, Claire Eccles says one final goodbye to Victoria.

Eccles was signed by the HarbourCats back in May of 2017 and became the first female to ever play in the West Coast League.

The fan favourite from Surrey leaves the HarbourCats in her final year of eligibility to join the Canadian Women’s team, as they prepare for the Women’s World Cup in Florida next month. For Eccles, she hopes she inspired young girls to keep paving the way for women in sports and will cherish her time with the HarbourCats and playing in front of the Victoria crowd.
