For the second time in a week, a commercial truck crashes on a windy section of Highway 4
The company responsible for the latest commercial truck crash on Highway 4 between Port Alberni and the Ucluelet Junction was picking up its cargo Sunday.
On Friday, the commercial truck was taking the firewood, from Prince George to Ucluelet, when a tire blew and the truck and trailer rolled. The driver was not injured but shaken.
The highway was closed for more than an hour.
On Saturday, a tow truck loaded the destroyed trailer before hauling away. On Sunday, the company removed the load of firewood which spilt onto the highway. Both the truck and trailer were write-offs.
This is the third commercial truck to crash in a windy section of Highway 4 in the past three months.
The latest was this past Tuesday when a transport truck went off the highway into Kennedy River. The driver was injured but is expected to survive.
