Youth sustains minor injuries following knife assault: Saanich Police

A youth has been injured after being assaulted with a knife Thursday afternoon, according to Saanich Police.

Police received a call about an assault with a knife at approximately 2:45 p.m. on May 6. The incident occurred outside of a business located in Saanich Plaza at 3995 Quadra Street, according to police.

Police say the suspect had left the area by the time officers got there, however, they were found later by a bicycle officer and the suspect was taken into custody.

Both the victim and suspect had injuries from the incident, according to police.

They were both taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police say both people involved in the incident are under the age of 16 and are known to each other, adding that there is no risk to the public.

Saanich Police say they are at the scene to continue their investigation.
