Wooden bat with nails among weapons seized at Victoria sheltering area

The Victoria Police Department has seized multiple weapons from a temporary sheltering area including a wooden bat with nails and blades affixed to it.

According to police, officers are currently seeking more information after the weapons were found in an abandoned tent in the 900-block of Caledonia Ave.

VicPD says officers were assisting Victoria Bylaw officers at the sheltering area around 10 a.m. on Wednesday morning when they stumbled upon the weapons.

In addition to the wooden bat with nails, officers found two replica firearms.

The report outlines that police, who seized the weapons after they were found, are hoping to speak to anyone with information.

An investigation is currently ongoing into the matter.
