For the third time this month, another person has reportedly been pricked by a needle in downtown Victoria.

Victoria police said on Monday morning, officers went to the 700-block of Johnson Street after a woman reported that she had found a syringe in a planter with the needle sticking up.

The woman also told police she had been pricked by another needle while gardening a week ago. She also said that needle had been placed in another planter in the same area. She received medical attention at the time. The woman was not pricked by the needle she found on Monday.

A week ago, police said a three-year-old was pricked with a needle from a syringe at a McDonald’s restaurant on Pandora Avenue.

The following day, police said a woman was pricked by a needle while walking her dog in the 700-block of Pembroke Street.  Police said the woman was pricked by an uncapped needle in a paper bag after she had moved the bag away from the dog. The bag had been next to a garbage can.

Anyone with information on the incident involving the needle in the planter is asked to call VicPD at 250-995-7654 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
