Someone who bought a Lotto 6/49 ticket in Powell River is now $1.75 million richer.

According to the British Columbia Lottery Corporation website, one of the four winning tickets in the Dec. 6 draw was purchased in Powell River.

The jackpot for that draw was $7 million, which means each of the four winning tickets will receive $1.75 million.

The tickets match all six of the numbers drawn, which were 6, 9, 16, 19, 21 and 28. The bonus number was 35.

Two of the other winning tickets were purchased in the Atlantic provinces and one of the tickets was purchased in Quebec.

Another person who bought a Lotto 6/49 ticket in Powell River was a big winner last week. A ticket worth $73,715.50, with five out of six numbers plus the bonus number matching, for the Nov. 29 draw was purchased in the community.
