West Shore RCMP are working with Capital Regional District Park bylaw officers as well as members of the View Royal Fire and Rescue to "enhance summer patrols" through popular summer destinations.

West Shore RCMP is planning to step up patrols in popular areas throughout the region.

According to a media release, the West Shore RCMP are working with Capital Regional District Park bylaw officers as well as members of the View Royal FireRescue to “enhance summer patrols” through popular summer destinations.

As a result, West Shore RCMP officers will be seen with CRD bylaw officers at various parks throughout the region. They will also be joining View Royal Fire Rescue members, who will be patrolling the waters at Thetis Lake.

We know that our parks in the West Shore are frequented by both locals and tourists in the summer season. We routinely receive calls for service in these high traffic areas. Having an enforcement presence in these areas will assist in making sure park goers are able to enjoy their visit, said Const. Nancy Saggar, media relations officer with the West Shore RCMP.

People are also encouraged to contact the West Shore RCMP to report any suspicious behaviour they see at public parks.
